We are transparent about where and how we operate, where our materials come from, and who we work with, so you know exactly what you’re buying and under what conditions.
We are constantly striving to improve our products and operations to minimize our carbon footprint.
We don’t produce unnecessary goods - each product is based on a genuine need and a design process that considers the entire lifecycle, from creation to recycling.
There is no such thing as a perfectly green way of doing things yet, and the car-based lifestyle itself is not very eco-friendly. However, we try to offset this through other choices, such as actively donating to nature conservation.
Our sustainability criteria
Ecological sustainability
We source our materials from Finland or as close to Europe as possible. The materials that can’t be sourced locally are purchased from responsible producers around the world.
We avoid unnecessary logistics and packaging, and focuse on durability, easy maintenance, and repairability of our products. We use as many natural materials as possible and avoid plastic.
We design our products with care, keeping longevity in mind and considering the entire product lifecycle.
Economical sustainability
We aim to grow in balance with each other and natural resources. We don’t produce unnecessary stock, nor do we compromise on quality, but follow the 'less, but better' principle.
We create smaller batches in an artisan style, based on genuine need, with future generations and the Earth’s capacity in mind.
The price of IVAN products is not cheap – they are made to be used with appreciation, care, love, and longevity.
Social sustainability
All our products are made in Finland, so we can ensure that working conditions are proper, employees are paid fairly for their work, and the craftsmanship is of high quality.
By purchasing an IVAN product, you are supporting local work in Finland.
Cultural sustainability
Instead of outsourcing our production to low-cost countries, all our products are made in Finland.
Each of our products is infused with a special kind of Finnish resilience called "sisu", along with expertise, pride in craftsmanship, and unique handicraft skills.

We design and manufacture all our products in Finland to ensure proper working conditions, appropriate worker age, high-quality craftsmanship, and a strong focus on environmental considerations.
You get what you order - produced with high quality, ethically made, and crafted locally.
QUALITY
We use only high-quality, natural, durable, and traceable materials that are easy to care for, maintain, and repair when needed.
We source our materials as locally as possible from Finland or Europe. The merino wool for our bedding comes from responsible producers in Argentina.
Our products are handcrafted in Finnish companies in Tampere, Hauho, and Jokipii.

Conservation and preserving biodiversity are at the core of our values. In addition to caring for Mother Earth, we are committed to protecting human rights
Our products are made in local production in Finland by an adult workforce. No shady working conditions or underage workers.
We avoid plastic and choose materials with recycling and reuse in mind. We favor natural fibers and locally sourced materials.
We avoid unnecessary logistics, pack in recyclable and/or reusable packaging, and invest in product development to ensure you get a long-lasting favorite item.
