The Story of IVAN
On a summer morning in 2022, we found ourselves once again wondering why vanlife gear looked and felt so unattractive. Even playhouses had better decor products available than those for vehicles! Wasn’t anyone offering anything better than plastic gadgets made in China? Where were the high-quality designer products to equip and furnish your van like a home? Had no one tackled this gaping void in the market? Apparently not.
Through our over 10 years of caravan experience, we had traveled with trailers, motorhomes, and campervans, and we were always facing the same everyday challenges. Practical life on the road often felt like frustrating hassle and a survival struggle rather than enjoying the journey, as the gear was just "good enough," and every task required fiddling, shifting, or reorganizing something. Our trips were constant Tetris with incompatible pieces, wrong materials, and ugly makeshift solutions.
Over time, we had created various pieces ourselves to make this puzzle easier to solve and found solutions to the most frustrating everyday problems in the car - and while sitting there on the lawn, we realized, “We can help other van lifers with these inventions!”
IVAN was born out of necessity – better design for van life
The idea wouldn’t leave us alone, and a year later, in September 2023, the IVAN Finnish design store saw the light of day. We are the world’s first brand specializing in high-quality van comfort products.
It’s high time that the interior design and equipment of motorhomes, caravans, and camper vans are approached in a completely new way. Your vehicle is your castle and base – and the things you surround yourself with can significantly elevate or diminish your well-being on the road.
Our mission is to set entirely new standards for what van life looks and feels like. We take adventure comfort to new dimensions, engaging every sense in a green, responsible, and transparent way. So you can focus on what truly matters: enjoying the present moment.

Motto: Impossible takes a little longer. But not much.
I create spaces for people to recharge. To come back to themselves, to presence, and to what truly matters.
What moves me is the art of communicating without words—how to use shapes, colors, light, materials, and energy so that the right message goes straight to the soul. How to create an environment that brings someone closer to their authentic core, helping them reconnect with their truth, and uniting scattered pieces into an intuitive realization of what feels right and good for them.
I seek ways to express what cannot be conveyed with words or reason, but that can be felt as true. My sweet spot lies in building abstract compositions with concrete tools, merging material and technical knowledge with creative intuition.
I am endlessly fascinated by “why.” Even more so by how to build environments that deeply nourish.
I believe in diving deep and in the power of doing good, intuition, and intent.
None of us need more, but we deeply crave better. More of what speaks to our core; more of what reminds us of what is genuinely essential. More of the full-body experience of how goodness starts to spread outward when we choose restorative and truly nourishing things for ourselves.
It matters what we surround ourselves with - things, objects, phenomena, and people. My mission is to raise the standard of being from just okay to full-body-hell-yes goodness.
IVAN is my creative playground to bring deep practical peace and aesthetics that speak to all the senses into everyday life, as well as a channel to tell people something truthful and beautiful about themselves.

Adventure is my passion, design and "fiddling" are my fuel.
My greatest strength is my strong, intuitive visionary nature, which means messages tend to land in my inbox a little ahead of others. This gift has guided me throughout my life, but it’s only with age that I’ve truly recognized it. This inner power ignites the creative fire that fuels amazing ideas.
What gets me excited is building, tinkering, and solving challenges. It’s incredibly rewarding to design and create a product that not only looks amazing but feels incredible and makes life easier. Every time you use it or even look at it, you can't help but smile and feel immense pride. And when it goes on adventures with you, it feels close to heaven, and the world is entirely yours.
My worldview is that our mission is to experience as much as we can.
To embrace life in all its colors, ups, and downs. To keep our senses open and gather data from feelings, sensory stimuli, and encounters with different people and cultures. I believe that positivity, a curious attitude toward life, kindness, and deep respect will take you far. I see vast potential in the world and believe that if everyone could discover their innate superpower, the world would be a much fresher and more wonderful place for all of us. Seeking out potential is one of my greatest passions, and I never get tired of it.
Nature is especially dear to me and empowering. I trust that if we treat nature well, it will repay us many times over. I want to encourage people to care for their environment, and I believe that IVAN is an excellent tool to help improve the world in this regard.
I’ve always dreamed of having my own company where I could pursue the passions I described above. In late summer 2022, after a hiking trip to the north, I got the idea to combine my love for car adventures, hiking, and working. But I knew I wouldn’t dare go it alone; I needed at least one equally crazy and trusted partner. My wife, Hanna, was the perfect person, and together we founded IVAN. Our shared wildlife circus was up and running.
IVAN has taught me a great deal. It has introduced me to new people, companies, lifestyles, ways of doing things, and materials. All of this accelerates my intuitive visionary abilities and creates a self-feeding cycle where nothing can hold me back.
